A View Inside

I write, perform, record and produce all my music and videos. I currently have over 50 albums under my moniker Drawn By Jaymz and more than 50 under my name, James Porter. Since I enjoy all types of music, I write all types of music, mostly in the Alternative/Indie Rock category. However, I have written classical, EDM, drum & bass, metal, jazz, folk, country, blues and some other style albums. I was the drummer for The Tah Dahs, The Happy Bullets and TankTred. I was the bassist and singer in Chaser. I've worked in recording studios with bands such as Cat Power, Absu, The Riverboat Gamblers, The Theater Fire just to name a few. I've shared the stage with Johnathan Richmond, Bishop Allen, Deerhoof, Calvin Johnson of K Rec., The Old 97's, Wall of Voodoo and many many more artists and bands. I have played and written music since around the age of 7. My first band was in the 6th grade. I honed my drum skills while being in the drum core at a military high school, placing first in state for drums, marimba, and various percussion. Music is the only thing I really understand. I am dyslexic and ADHD, so I always was struggling with academia. I have CPTSD, Acute Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Insomnia, Depression, Dissociative Disorder and a few other awesome traits that I've developed over the last few years. Writing, performing, recording, producing music and creating videos occupies all my senses, which in turn helps me not feel so crazy. That is all I do, all day, everyday.
